I've been designing for a few years now and it's becoming apparent that many of my designs are quite masculine in both composition and colour. I don't mind - often gentlemanly designs, I find, are warm and inviting - but I wonder what it says about me. It's true, I sometimes create with my husband in mind (especially when he frustratingly never sees anything he likes in the shops so I have to make him something he will wear), but mostly ideas jump randomly into my head and over which I have no control and it's safe to say that none of my creations could ever be accused of being delicate.
My designs, like my paintings, are all precious to me and I love all of them to greater or lesser degree - they all contain part of who I am. Some designs are pushed into the limelight and developed, while others get stuffed into a draw to "stew" a bit longer (some stay in there for years, but eventually they re-emerge).
So, make of that what you will and feel free to leave your thoughts below . . .
